A new church year begins on Sunday, November 27th with the beginning of the season of Advent. This important time of reflection and preparation slowly leads us to the humble birth of our Lord on Christmas Eve. Here are a few highlights of our upcoming observance of this holy season:

11/27 Theme: The Judge is Coming [HOPE]

12/4 Theme: The Lord is Coming [PEACE]

12/11 Theme: The Savior is Coming [JOY]

12/18 Theme: Emmanuel is Coming [LOVE]

12/24 Theme: The King is Coming [GLORY]

In order to emphasize our anticipation, the church will not be decorated until Sunday, December 11th at which time we will enjoy a catered fellowship meal following worship, hear about the Joy Gift offering, and then hang Chrismons on the tree and greenery all around! The choir will offer a seasonal cantata, Candles & Carols, on Christmas Eve at the 4:00 PM service, which will also include the observance of the Feast of Faith and the lighting of candles.
To further prepare our hearts for our Lord’s advent, Rebecca will lead a two-session Bible study on the Twelve Ways We Know Jesus. The first session will focus on Christ Anticipated using texts from the Old Testament; the second session will celebrate Christ Arrived with New Testament texts. The study will be offered on Wednesdays, December 7th and 14th at 2:00 PM in Fellowship Hall and on Zoom. No sign-up required! If you’d like the handouts in advance, just ask!
